August 22, 2002: Thanks to Taylor Kennedy for the following! Hello Dennis I had some Whelan information in my files, but it did not reflect any names you are sourcing, HOWEVER, this evening I checked the ancestry.ca message board for Carleton County, and found this one interesting and wanted to pass it on to you. It may be a match. Here it is: Seeking information on my grandfather Thomas Hugh Whelan 8Dec1887-5Oct1946. When he died article in newspaper Well-Known Athlete, Thomas H. Whelan Dies - Former lacrosse and football player Thomas Hugh Whelan dies unexpectedly Saturday morning in a local hospital. He was in his 57th year. Born in Ottawa, a son of the late Thomas Whelan and the former Mary McGuire, he was employed as a lithographer for the Mortimer Company for the past 38 years. He was a devout parishioner of St. Brigid's church and was a member of the Holy Name Society and of the League of the Sacred Heart. He married in 1923 to the former Annie Brown who survives him. He leaves besides his widow one son, Thomas Patrick Whelan and one daughter Miss Nora May Whelan, and one sister Miss May Whelan of Ottawa. I would be interested in any information on his sporting years as well as anything on the Mortimer Company. Sorry, I forgot to get the email address of the researcher, but visit Ancestry.com, Ontario, Carleton board, and you'll see it. Good luck and take care Taylor Kennedy

May 11, 2005: Hello, My name is Pegi and I am the granddaughter of Katherine Whelan-Lacoste (above). Are you still searching for information on their ancestors? I am very interested to correspond with others doing geneaological research. Thanks! Pegi ___________________ Hi, and thanks for responding so promptly to my email. By all means, go ahead and publish my letter and email. However, I spelled my grandmother's name wrong!!! It's "Katheline - NOT Kathrine as I had always known it to be! Pegi
April 11, 2011 Hi; I would like to let you know that I do not have a site anymore, I had contacted you in search of info regarding Thos Patrick Whelan and Emma Schofield quite a while back. I read a response with someone named Pegi who said he or she was interested in that Whalen family and her grandmother's name was Kathleen or Katherine not with a C. Sorry but grandmother's name was Teresa Catherine Whelan B:1913 BPT certificate D:1991 and I have the complete family lineage starting from Michael Whelan and Margaret Loughran or Loughrin married 1858 in Stoneham, Québéc. I can send Pegi the whole family tree copy by Email because I use Front Page 3 which is HTML and can be viewed via Internet Explorer, no need for everybody to have Gedcom. Take care Dennis Beauregard
