Sacre Coeur RC Church in Sandy Hill
Ottawa, Ontario, Canada
January 12, 2014:
Thanks to Taylor Kennedy for the following newspaper article.
Sacré Coeur Church was built in 1889 and its parishioners were and are French-speaking. The church has always had strong
ties to the University of Ottawa (was St. Joseph's College). Over the years, the church
has been a strong advocate for Franco-Ontarian education in the Ottawa area. The second version of the church was one of the
most beautiful examples of Gothic architecture in the Ottawa area.
Sacre Coeur Church destroyed by fire 1907 and 1979
