For a very good history of an Irish Palatine family who came to Nepean Township in 1825, see Christopher SWITZER and Sara Jane MILLER.
Susan has submitted a wonderful video tracing this Switzer family back to 1609 in Germany and then to Rathkeale, County Limerick, Ireland.
In 1825, the family came to Nepean Township and settled on 200 acres encompassing both sides of West Hunt Club Road from Woodroffe Avenue
to Greenbank Road, including the present Manordale subdivision and the Superdome.
