August 28, 2003:

Hi Al,
Here is the information we have accumulated over the summer. We still don't
have all the answers yet but we are getting there slowly!

Would you have any pieces to this puzzle as I am still trying to relate
this family into my John O'Boyle / Christiana McKay family who did live in
Osgoode before moving back into Ottawa?

Please take a look and let me know what you think. Anne-Marie

back to John BOYLE and Anna CUSACK
Hi Al & Ann Marie. I have been researching this Boyle family for a friend of mine who would be the great grand son of John. As far a I can tell John and Anna had two children. Mary Ann and Michael. John married twice, the second time to Bridget Gleeson from Black Rapids and was the widow of John Cassidy, He was 73 years of age at this marriage. You will notice below that in the 1891 census he is 64 in the 1901 census he is listed as 65 Mary Ann married William Keane 1865-1889 Born County Kerry, Ireland. They had one son Herbert Michael Keane born Ottawa 24 Apr 1886 and died Ottawa 20 Dec 1959. In the Census of 1891 it has two boys Herbert(5) and Willie(7). I have never found the birth of Willie nor his death. Herbert married twice. His first wife was Mary Ann Gorman born Pembroke, Renfrew County, 23 Mar 1886 and died Ottawa 5 Apr 1936, buried at Notre Dame Cemetery. His second wife was a Florence Mick, born 1888 Wales and died in BC 1983. Witnesses at his 1st wedding were James Feagan / Fagan & Margaret Ferry. Ann's surname is spelt Cusick in the Church registry. Witnesses at his burial were Samuel Bingham (Mayor of Ottawa) (1897-1905) and James Mundy. 1851 Census of Canada: Name:John Boyle Gender: Male Age: 30 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1822 Birthplace: Ireland Province: Canada West (Ontario )District: Bytown (town) District Number: 46Sub-District: EastSub-District Number: 442 Living with his wife Ann born Ireland age 33 and his daughter Mary A born Bytown age 3 and a son Michael born Bytown age 7 months.
