Bruno MOREAU and Rosalie LAFLEUR
Allumette Island to Ramsay Township

Chris:

Bruno Moreau and his wife Rosalie Lafleur had the following 3 children
baptized at St. Michael's Church in Huntley:

Pierre Moreau, born 8/28/1857 witnesses were Patrick & Mary Corkery

Rosanna Moreau, born 6/26/1855 witnesses were James Walsh and Anne Glauce?,

Louis Morreau, born 9/28/1859 witnesses were Joseph Valiquette and Eleanor
Lafleur

This church was a long walk from either Ramsay or Fitzroy Townships but was
an easy drive if they took (as my Grandfather liked to say) "the horse with
the buggy behind".

March 19, 2003: Hi Al: Just noticed that you have Bruno and Rosalie coming from Ramsay to Allumette.....The opposite is the case. Bruno was from "near Montreal" and Rosalie was to have been from the Allumette area. Three of their first 4 children were baptised at Corkery and in 1861 they are found in the Darling Township, Lanark Co. census, (albeit under an illegible name that might possibly be Pellow (Pilon?) or something to that effect, but it is the correct family). From there they proceeded to Renfrew County and are found in the 1871 Census with a few more children. Bruno and Rosalie were to live out their lives in Ross Township, Renfrew County. If anyone has any further information on the "beginnings" of Bruno and Rosalie, I would be very greatly. Take care Al, and keep up the good work. Chris Dodd
February 15, 2006: Hi I am not related to either of these lines that I know of but my Hubbies GGreat Grand parents Moreau were from Cumblerland Ontario East of Ottawa. My own Grand mother was a Lafleur from Ottawa and before that was St. Andre East. Looking at the Pelo, Peelo last name I know that my Lafleur line was Palu Dit Lafleur. the name Palu was alway's miss spelled and I am assuming Pelo might just be Palu. Only an Assumption though. ...
