Irish and Canadian Money and Coins

April 30, 2003:
I have come across many coins, one dating back to King George II, 1746. I have one dated 1838.
What was interesting about this one was it was stamped on the front,
"Pure Copper Preferable To Paper". I was wondering if this was minted as a result of the 1837
rebellion which I know nothing about today, but through research will know soon.
What are your thoughts? I'm going to email these to you over the next couple of days. They're so cool!
Some interesting early coins. Here's Queen Victoria in 1876 with a crown on
her head after Confederation.
