James McGUIRE and Mary FOX, from the Coollattin Estate in County Wicklow, Ireland
to Camden Township, Ontario, Canada

New September 20, 2017:

The following was posted to our Facebook Group Irish Famine Migration to Canada, 1846-1854 by Mary Raycroft.

Thanks for allowing me to join the group. All of my ancestors came from Ireland in the 1800s, settling in Eastern Ontario.
I am currently researching my 2x great grandparents, James McGuire and Mary Fox. They came with their 9 children from the
Coolattin Estates (Ballard, Carnew, Wicklow), landing in Quebec in June 1852 aboard the ship "Confiance". I have the children's
baptism records from Tomacork, but have been unable to find James and Mary's Irish marriage or land records.

They settled by 1857 in Camden Township, Addington County, Upper Canada (Ontario). Also related to them (although details are sketchy) are
Patrick Fox and Mary McGuire, who came from Shillelagh, married in Wicklow and also came to Camden Twp. Any suggestions welcome!
