Ont are also my families. James is my direct line as they came to Kent County, Ontario.
I'm going to Ireland next March and want to get all I can before going and to
figure out what I need to look for there.

There are many connections between pioneers in Carleton County and the people
who settled in the London, Ontario area. Some of these settlers are described in Bruce Elliott's
book Irish Migrants in the Canadas

I am new to this research ... but have just come across your dialogue on the "bytown or bust" site....
My great great great grandfather is Abraham Pratt (b ~1792 Co Cavan, Ireland), died Oct 21, 1878, North Gower, Ontario.
He married Margaret Hill (1803-1889).
I see on your notes that James Hill & John Hill are listed with Abraham ... all from Co. Cavan.
Would your findings also indicate that perhaps Margaret was a sister of James & John.
I see that your notes are a "few" years old...but hopefully you are still searching...
thanks for any info.
