Attached is my work-in-progress. Most of information came from military records,
Land Records, wills, census and Goulbourn Museum files. The military granted
100 acres to Private Robert Green, Private James Green and Private Thomas Green of
the 100th Regiment. About the same date John Green was granted 100 acres in the
same vicinity as an immigrant.

The results are not as perfect as I would like them to be, for instance I do not know
what happened to Edward and Thomas Green.

July 24, 2005: Al Lewis: Some of the info on the Greens does not jibe with what Evelyn and I had. I have the birth and baptismal dates for all Robert Green's children except Robert and Mary. Also info on Mary Green and Samuel Dowdall. James Green was my grt grandfather, Robert Green my grt grt grandfather. ... Margaret (Giles) Hall ________________________ Hi: That is O K. You can find Samuel Dowdall's family on World Connect. The other problem is I could not get any answers re proof of parentage of the children. I do not have the book here now ,I am at my cottage, but there were two Dowdalls who settled Samuel and I think the other was Patrick. I verify my research from church records, etc. ... Margaret
February 12, 2006: Hi to all, I found the following on the OVSP site and was curious whether this Hannah Green was one of yours. 1756-75 Charles LYON, 20, teamster, Richmond, Ottawa, s/o Robinson LYON & Sarah MAXWELL, married Hannah GREEN, 21, Ottawa, same, d/o M--? GREEN & Agnes SERVICE, witn: Robert MOXLEY & Annie TIPPEN, both of Ottawa, 12 Aug 1875 at Ottawa ... Al Craig ______________________ also posted on February 12, 2006: Hello Evelyn Margaret and Al: I am a descendant of Mary Green and Samuel Dowdall. I was very happy to see your genealogy which shows a family for Mary. I have been wondering for years how I could identify where she came from and who her family was. As the only information I had on her was being born in Quebec or Lower Canada I wasn't sure where to start to look for her information, Quebec could mean the city or the province after the act of separation when Canada was divided into Upper and Lower Canada in the 1790's. I am extremely interested in any information that shows Mary as Robert Greens' daughter. I find it interesting that he would be a Military person as this is what I had supposed for myself with no corroborating information. I am especially interested in trying to determine her her place of birth, baptism and or marriage. I have been unable to determine the date of her death. There doesn't appear to have been an obituary, but it would have been after the 1861 census. The information I have for Samuel Dowdall had an adult female and 2 children under 12 with him when he received his military land grant in 1816. The 1819 Perth and Richmond Military Settlements census has both Samuel and Mary under a misspelled name with 4 children. I look forward to hearing from my distant cousins. Janet Dowdall
New February 9, 2009: Hi Al, Attached is the 1799 marriage in Quebec City of Robert Green and Sarah Wiseman. The record says he was a private soldier in the sixtieth regiment. ... Anne Burgess Marriage of Robert Green and Sarah Wiseman Source: Drouin Records at ancestry.ca Hi again, Al, This would seem to be the Quebec death of Robert Green of the later Goulbourn family, with a wife Sarah in attendance. It notes he was a member of the 100th regiment, not the 60th; however, the baptism of their son Edward is also online, and Robert is again listed there as a member of the 60th regiment. (6th Regiment?) ... Anne Death of Robert Green in 1809 Source: Drouin Records at ancestry.ca Note: I believe that the Vicar, Jehosephat Mountain was Jacob Mountain who later became the Anglican Archbishop of Quebec. The village of Mountain, south of Ottawa, is named for him. ... Al
