Ralph Burton, born in Stormont County to the south of Ottawa was a painter who lived and painted in Ottawa.

The Burton family had four farms in the Cornwall Ontario area. Here are a couple of them in 1879:
Concession VIII, Lot 30, Cornwall Township

His painting friend was A.Y. Jackson who had retired to Manotick. The City of Ottawa Archives holds photographic copies of his paintings which preserve the memory of the old houses and industrial buildings from the LeBreton Flats and Chaudiere neighbourhood. N.B.
